HOW TO keep your leather belt looking its best, for a long period of time

Here are a series of tricks that will keep your leather belt beautiful and classy.

  1. Protect it from dust when not in use. This is an important step, as the leather belt requires a special kind of protection – you need to keep it away from dust, at all costs. Just as you keep your suit away, in a special bag, the same needs to be done with the belt too, for you to enjoy it for a very long time.
  2. Don’t put it in the washing machine! A leather belt will not respond to the same cleaning process as a normal piece of clothing or accessory.
  3. Use a damp cloth. If you are out of wax or prefer to clean your belt the old-fashioned way, a damp cloth will do the trick. Don’t rub the cloth too hard on the leather because it will scratch the surface.
  4. Massage your belt. Yes, you read that right! Massaging the belt is an important process that you can do by yourself at home, it doesn’t take much time and it makes all the difference in the world. Roll the belt through your fingers, gently, a few times, this can help to disappear some shallow marks. This massaging process will take only a couple of minutes, but trust us, it helps.

Be proud of its leather glaze.

As time passes, you will start noticing some changes in your belt, but beautiful ones, as this true leather ages just like a fine wine. This process is called a leather glaze, because through time your belt will become shinier and it will have a vibe that will proudly show its story.

Every belt is unique.

As they are made from 100% real leather, your belts will never be alike. They will have, of course, the same shape and size, as per your request, but the fine lines you are likely to discover on the belt are a testament to the real and raw material used in creating this majestic accessory.

The uniqueness of the belt is also given by the different shades that each batch of leather will have.
